Udaipur Murder Update: Seventh accused arrested in connection with Kanhaiya Lal Murder

Udaipur Murder Update Two persons arrested from Khanjipeer

NIA has formally arrested 31 year old Farhad Mohammad Sheikh from Udaipur in connection with the Kanhaiya Lal murder that happened on 28 June.

Farhad had been rounded up by the NIA team 3 day ago under suspicion. After initial interrogation and investigation, he was formally arrrested as accused today, in the conspiracy to murder Kanhaiya Lal at Udaipur. As reported by the PTI, Farhad was a close associate Mohammed Riaz Attari, one of the two main accused in the murder at Udaipur. He was an active participant in the conspiracy to kill Kanhaiya Lal.

The National Investigation Agency, which also functions as the Central Counter Terrorism Law Enforcement Agency in India, was handed over the investigation of the case, by the Central Government, immeidately after the initial investigations into the murder at Udaipur. So far, Mohammed Riaz Attari, Ghaus Mohammed, Mohsin Khan, Asif Khan, Mohd Mohsin, Wasim Attari and Farhad Mohammad are the 7 arrested in this case; Riaz and Ghaus being the main accused, who carried out the murder and recorded the incident on video, which was broadcast across social media platforms. Kanhaiya Lal was allegedly murdered for showing support to a controversial comment on Prophet Mohammad by now suspended BJP Spokesperson, Nupur Sharma.
