Udaipur Police arrested Altaf alias Ifran, a resident of Bichiwada on Monday, for allegedly attacking a man with a knife and injuring him. As per the victim, it was a petty argument that led to this attack.
The accused, Altaf s/o Hayatullah is presently staying at Diwanshah Colony near Patel Circle. The accused was presented in court remanded to judicial custody. Police has already arrested 3 of Altaf's associates in connection with the matter.
Leeladhar Malviya, Station House Officer of Surajpol Police Station said that the incident took place on 3 May, when the victim Kunal Dhabhai, a resident of Variyon ki Ghati, Ghantaghar was going toward Chetak Circle via Surajpol with his brother on their motor bike to deposit some cash in the ATM machine.
As soon as they reached Bapu Bazar, 5 bike borne men came toward them and started spitting on them. When they objected, they stopped their motor bike and allegedly started beating them during which Kunal and his brother sustained severe injuries.
The victims in their report also mentioned that it was only when people intervened that the accused fled the scene. Later a report was registered at Surajpol Police Station and an investigation was launched, Malviya added. Three of Altaf's accomplices were arrested immediately, but Altaf was on the run. As per reports, both the parties to the incident have filed reports against each other.
