Report by Sayeed Ahmed Hundred of advocates of BAR Association Udaipur angrily protested against the alleged brutality and insult done by few policemen of hathipol police station to one of the advocate and his clients today afternoon. The road in front of Hathipol Police Station was blocked for hours by angry protesters who demanded the suspension of policemen involved in the incident. Later an FIR was registered against all involved policemen of Hathipol Thana. According to the FIR registered by the victim the lawyer Raju Yadav resident of Pula, he was called by his clients’ bhagwan lal yadav and banwari lal yadav regarding an incident of chain snatching took place with them and they also successfully caught the culprit but Hathipol Police is not registering their FIR. Following the information when Adv. Raju Yadav reached Hathipol Police Thana, he was questioned by SI Gajendra Singh Pawar, ASI Bhairon Singh and police constables Krishan Kumar and Mubarak of Hathipol Police Station. As Advocate Raju Yadav said in the FIR, policemen started abusing him and beaten him mercilessly, they locked-up raju yadav and both of his clients. Soon, members of BAR association were informed about the incident and it sparked rage between advocates against police authorities. The protest was started in afternoon was going on till 9PM. All senior police officers and heavy force were present on the scene. Due to road blockage traffic was affected highly. The series of meetings led by ADSP Tejraj Singh were going on inside Hathipol Thana till writing this news. Jitendra Jain ex general secretary of BAR association said ‘Those advocates who came to support today, were threatened by police of slapping fake case against them and possible arrest with no- bail’. The two complainants accompanied with raju yadav were set free on bail after registering a case under section 151. The association also threatened of ‘Udaipur BANDH’ if their demands of suspending guilty policemen were overlooked, this might affect the upcoming visit of President Pratibha Patil on 11 ^th May. ADSP Tejraj Singh with Manjeet Singh SI Bhupalpura , Dayanad Sarang Deputy Ambamata Thana were present on the scene. Though no official comment regarding the case was recorded from any Police authority. But there was no one to answer our two questions? 1. Why police will not write FIR? 2.
