It has not been even 24 hours since a truck carrying illegal liquor stock was picked up by the Pratap Nagar Police (full news), that another cargo truck was seized in Udaipur.  This truck was again carrying a Haryana number and was transporting the liquor to Gujarat.

Being the second similar incident of the day, this time 930 cartons were seized after 1,005 cartons were seized at midnight today.  Incidentally, the earlier truck was also a Haryana number, and going to Gujarat.

The Excise Departments of Udaipur and Kherwada jointly executed this seizure; the team including Praveen Kedia, Yogesh Shrivastav and an Officer from Excise Department, Kherwada.

This was again a planned seizure, based on news given by an informant.  The cargo truck was captured by the above team at 3:30 today afternoon on NH 76, in Ratron Ka Gudha near Kavita Village.

Talking to UT, one of the officials Praveen Kedia, said “The illegal alcohol will be kept in our custody till the investigation is completed and appropriate action will be taken as per the court orders”.

It is assumed that the value of the total liquor, which was seized today could be in lakhs of rupees. As mentioned above, all this illegal consignment was being taken to Gujarat, which holds the status of ‘dry state’.
