Udaipur Session Court granted permission to all six students of RNT medical college who were arrested in the petrol pump assault case to take their MBBS exams starting today till 1st August under police custody.

Udaipur Session Court granted permission to all six students of RNT medical college who were arrested in the petrol pump assault case to take their MBBS exams starting today till 1st August under police custody. The students were sent to judicial custody on July 27 for assaulting petrol pump workers on 25th July.

According to the advocate, Harshvardhan Jain, lawyer of students, a plea was filed today morning in the court for allowing the students to appear in their exams. Jain said “the exams consist of a viva and practical and being a first year students of MBBS, it is a question of their career”.

Harshvardhan (in photo above) said that media had created hype in this case by linking it to the resident doctors issue which created unnecessary complications; otherwise we could have got bail.

Students Piyush Kapoor, Keshav Meena, Lokesh Meena, Nikhil Tank, Nikhil Guliyani and Lokesh Purohit attacked petrol pump workers at Chetak Circle and damaged the pump machine. The incident was recorded in CCTV cameras and later given to police for investigation.

The students surrendered at the Hathipol Police station and were sent to judicial custody. Their bail plea was rejected earlier.
