ATM Fraud: Woman Duped of Rs.15000

A woman was duped at an ATM booth located at Town Hall area on Monday. The incident occurred when the suspect under pretext of helping her withdraw the money, fled away with the cash, amounting to Rs.15,000.

Police have started investigating the case after receiving a complaint from the woman.

According to police, the victim was trying to withdraw money from the ATM of Punjab National Bank, but somehow she could not complete the transaction. In the meantime the suspect approached and offered to assist her withdraw the amount.

It was during the ATM process that the accused took off with the cash and fled away.  The incident happened so quickly that the victim could not understood until she received a text message of the withdrawal.

S.P Rajendra Prasad Goyal said that the police team is investigating on the basis of few a important clues, which also include CCTV footage of the ATM booth.
