Criminals in Udaipur seem to be getting extremely bold and fearless. Last night, an unknown man rang the doorbell at the house of an Executive Engineer and stabbed him the moment he came out. The accused then fled the scene.

The incident happened at Goverdhan Vilas Sec 14, I-Block area last night around 10 pm. A man rang the bell of Kamlesh Kumar Sharma (57). Kamlesh’s wife opened the door. The man on the door did not say anything and stood there. When Kamlesh came to the door, the man attacked him with a knife. The attacker then pushed Kamlesh’s wife and fled the scene.

Kamlesh was hit by the knife on his face and with blood oozing out he crashed on the floor. Hearing his wife’s scream, neighbours came running and took him to the hospital. Govedhan Vilas Police was immediately informed.

Kunwar Rastradeep, SP Udaipur, rushed to MB hospital to take a stock of the situation. He met Kamlesh and asked him about the incident and the assailant.

Kamlesh and his wife said that the attacker was 25-30 year old and very thin. He was wearing a black t-shirt. Basis the information, Police has started the process of identifying the assailant. All Police Stations have been informed and CCTV footage of the nearby area are being looked into.

Kamlesh is an Executive Engineer in the Vigilance department of Ajmer Vidyut Vitrana Nigam Limited.
