A 30 year old woman who left her house along with her 5 month old girl in the early hours of Thursday morning was found floating inside a well located a few meters away from house at Loyra village under Bagdaon police station today on 18 January. The dead body suggesting death under mysterious circumstances, was fished out of the well while the search operation is still on for her 5 month old child.
The incident came to light on Thursday afternoon, when some one from the village went on the well to fetch water and spotted the body floating in the well. He identified the deceased to be Nirmala Gameti, a resident of the same village and raised the alarm, following which, other villagers also gathered at the spot and someone from the crowd called the police.
Pooran Singh, Station House Officer of Badgaon police station said, "We got the information about the incident on a phone call and immediately a team led by me rushed to the spot. Soon, the Civil Defence department was called for help. The team reached on the spot and initiated the operation. It took half an hour for the team to fish out the dead body of the woman, while the search for the kid is still underway. No report has been given by the relatives of the victim woman so far and the reason of the death is yet to be ascertained. No suicide note was found at the scene, but suicide, accident or murder cannot be ruled out".
Singh said that during the initial investigation, the relatives of the victim woman denied any reason following which she can end her own life. They also said that she had a cordial relationship with her husband and in laws too.
