Udaipur, December 4,2024 - The Banswara police have arrested seven people involved in a series of highway robberies. The gang is suspected of committing at least 10 robberies on highways. The arrested individuals are identified as Anil Kharadi, Hitesh Charpata, Rajesh Lal, Suneel, Ganesh Lal, Parmesh, and Prakash.
Notorious Robbery Incidents
One of the gang’s robberies occurred around four months ago on Ghatol Road. In this incident, they stopped a man traveling on a bike at gunpoint, stealing Rs 10,000 and other valuables. The gang also targeted a group of people on their way to a satsang, robbing them on the highway.
Additional Criminal Activities
Apart from highway robberies, the gang was involved in stealing goats from villages. They would slaughter the animals and hold parties afterward. Their knowledge of small roads and major highways allowed them to escape quickly after committing crimes.
Police Investigation and Findings
The police believe that the arrests will help uncover several other robbery cases in Banswara and surrounding areas. They received multiple complaints about rising highway robberies. By analyzing CCTV footage and other data, the police were able to identify the suspects, who were also involved in stealing from students heading to exam centers.
