A resident of Bedla became victim of an ATM card hack and money was used from her bank account for online shopping. The victim lady became aware of the hack when she received a message on her mobile and email in her account notifying her of the withdrawals.

The victim informed that the incident happened on the evening of 15-Nov when she received messages on her mobile about money being transferred from her account. One after the other money was being used for online transfer and in a short while she had been duped of Rs 13200. The miscreants tried a big transfer but the final transaction failed due to limited balance and the account was left with Rs 3300.

The lady immediately called up the bank and blocked the account. She also informed Police and the bank branch.

Incidentally, while all these transfers were happening, the victim’s ATM card was at her home only.
