On one hand, the city goes around singing hymns of praise in Goddess name during Navratri, while on the other people behave in a manner that puts the entire humanity to shame. In one such shameful and unfortunate incident, a baby girls of 4-5 days was found dead on the road sides in Malla Talai area.

This incident came to light when people spotted a foetus in the drainage area along 80 feet road at Malla Talai. People immediately informed Ambamata Police Station. Police reached the spot and found a female foetus lying there.

Police took the foetus and got its post mortem done in MB Hospital nursery. Police is trying to ascertain whether the baby was born dead or was it thrown aliv in the area after which it died.
