Body of a 20 year old youth was found in Badi Lake on Wednesday. It turned out to be the body of a wanted criminal in 25 cases.

The youth’s body was 7 days old. When found in the lake, he was not identified. But later he was recognized as Shankar (20) s/o Bansi Lal from Eklavya Colony in Ambamata. He was listed by 4 police stations for 25 thefts and robberies in various parts of the city. Shankar’s body was handed over to his family members after post mortem.

As per SI Nathu Singh, the body was received by the youth’s mother. Goverdhan Vilas police, Sukher police, Pratap Nagar police and Ambamata police stations had 25 cases against him and he was being searched for in these cases. The criminal’s mother said that Shankar would rarely get back home and that he was living with his girlfriend. He was not even working anywhere since he was used to acts of thefts and robberies. He was not liked by anyone including his friends’ families.

Shankar’s mother has demanded a probe in the death case of her son. When police interrogated the girl friend, she said that she met him almost 20 days back. After that day, she has no idea where he has been.
