The sensational kidnapping of bride during her “vidai” was actually planned by the bride. Police have recovered a letter written by the bride in which this revelation was made.

Vinita, the bride, had married Kshitij, a resident of Chintaman Ghati, Bhatiyani Chohatta on Monday night. After the rituals on Monday night, vidai was held on Tuesday early morning. At around 6am, Vinita left with her husband in his car and other relatives followed in car behind. A white car stopped before their car at Savina railway crossing with few men coming out and laying an attack on the groom. They then fled with the bride. Police was called upon and Vinita’s family named a youth from neighbourhood behind the kidnapping.

However, late Tuesday night, Police recovered a letter from Vinita that suggested that it was a planned eloping. Vinita mentioned in the letter that she was in love with Priyank who hailed from a different caste. Her family stood against their marriage and forced her to marry Kshitij.

The letter read, “Had you realized our love you would not have forced me to marry Kshitij but I cannot live without Priyank and hence do not search for us”. Vinita also urged her family not to trouble Priyank’s family.

On back of a lot of public outrage, Police has started extensive search operation to trace the duo. Additional SP city, Gopal Swaroop Mewara said that special teams have been formed to trace the bride and accused. CCTV footage are being screened at Toll-plaza. Mewara said that certain people have been interrogated and they are confident of nabbing the accused and the bride soon.
