Breaking: Another accused in Udaipur Jewellery Shop Loot and Murder detained

Udaipur 29 March: Udaipur Police have apprehended another accused in the loot and murder case at Udaipur last week. The Udaipur SP, Yogesh Goyal, said today that a team from Udaipur have arrested the second accused, Sandeep Choudhary, from his native village in Haryana.

Anil Jain, proprietor of Jainam Jewellers in Ashok Nagar Udaipur, was allegedly murdered by three men, who came to loot his shop a week ago. After killing him, the accused conveniently looted his shop and then fled from the scene. One of the accused, Vikas Choudhary, is already behind bars after residents of Ayad nabbed him when he was trying to flee from the area.

SP Goyal informed that Sandeep was arrested from his native village in Haryana and brought to Udaipur on Friday, 29 March, exactly a week after the incident. He is currently under police custody and the police is now questioning him further in relation to the incident of loot and murder of the owner at Jainam Jewelers.

The third accused, Ashish Choudhary is still at large and search operation is on. Meanwhile Bhopalpura police have arrested the accused Vikas Choudhary on Production Warrant from Jail for 5 days.

The incident occurred on 21st March when the accused Vikas, Ashish and Sandeep, all three hailing from Rohtak, Haryana, barged into Jainam Jewelers located in Ashok Nagar at around 2pm. They looted gold and silver ornaments worth lakhs of rupees from the shop and choked the owner Anil Jain to death when he tried to intervene. 

The trio than went to the Chhipa Colony in Ayad, area where Vikas snatched the scooter (Activa) of Sajid Hussain. Sajid was brave enough to confront Vikas and tried to stop him from taking the scooter and running away, even when Vikas was firing at him.  This delay led to people gathering in the area, and even though Vikas managed to take the scooter, the people who collected because of Sajid's heroics, nabbed Vikas and handed him over to the police. In this entire episode, Sandeep and Ashish managed to flee from the area. 

An investigation had been lodged into the matter, road barricading was initiated at all exits of the district and SP Yogesh Goyal had constituted various teams to arrest the accused. It was later found that the accused Vikas Choudhary is a CISF Jawan and is posted at Mumbai.

Vikas, in his interrogation, revealed that it was due to the burden of a huge debt that made him and his aides criminals. The trio is addicted to online gaming following which, they fell into a huge debt of Rs.25 lakhs. They hatched a plan to commit a loot at Udaipur just to repay the debt. Following their plan they came to Udaipur on 19th March and had done recce of the said jewelry shop before committing the crime.
