A case of suicide was reported today afternoon at a hotel in Goverdhan Vilas, where a couple consumed poison along with the children.  The husband and wife were declared dead, whereas the children have been taken to hospital.

As per information made available the police, the couple with their children arrived at Udaipur today afternoon at 12:30 and checked into Hotel Harsh Palace, Goverdhan Vilas.

The couple, before checking into their room, had informed the reception that they would leave for sighseeing in another hour.  However, after an hour, the daughter of the couple came staggering towards the counter, with foam coming out from her mouth and asked to be taken to hospital  The hotel staff were shocked and informed the police.

Police and hotel staff barged into the room and found that the couple was lying lifeless whereas 17 year old Nand and 15 year old Kriti were groaning and tossing about in agony.

The four were immediately rushed to hospital, where the couple was declared dead and the children are being treated and uner observation.  A bottle of poison and bottles of cold drink were found in the room. 

Police investigation with the hotel revealed that the family belonged to Modasa.  The man's name was Nimesh Bhai (50 yrs) and mothers name was Damini (49 yrs).

It looks like a clear case of suicide, the reason for which is still to be deciphered. Police have informed the family's relaties and SHO Goverdhan Vilas, Chena Ram said that the investigations are on.
