Anti Corruption Bureau, Ajmer has nabbed the broker of Vice Chancellor of MDS University, Ajmer.
The ACB team raided the bungalow of Prof RP Singh, the Vice Chancellor of MDS University Ajmer. Here, they trapped the broker accepting a brokerage (BRIBE) of Rs 2 lac 20 thousand. As per sources, the broker was already trapped even before the raid began, and he went through the regular motions on the directions of the ACB team. The broker, Ranjeet was accepting the bribe in the name of Prof RP Singh.
Deputy Registrar of MDS University is also a suspect and it is expected that he will be picked up for questioning. As per sources, the Dy Registrar was being pressurised to accept bribe. The ACB is interrogating the broker and it is expected that the VC will also be rounded up for questioning. As per sources, Ranjeet, the alleged broker is the driver of Prof RP Singh. The residence of VC is within the premises of MDS University.
The ACB activity was supervised by Alok Tripathi, Director General and Dinesh NM, Additional Director General, Anti Corruption Bureau, Jaipur. Approximately 4 teams, as per the latest available information, are on site at teh VCs premises. The team from ACB Ajmer is also present at the residence of the VC.

MDS University is a NAAC accredited B++ grade State University. 70 colleges in Ajmer, including 12 government colleges are affiliated to MDS University. Similarly 41 colleges in Bhilwara, including 9 government colleges are under the MDS affiliation. In Nagaur 132 colleges including 10 government colleges are affiliated to MDS, while in Tonk, 8 government and 56 private colleges affiliated to MDS.
In the past, the ACB has arrested a professor of the management department at MDS University for accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000 in lieu of a scholarship payment.
