Police registers case against Pandit Dhirendra Shastri over provocative statement

Rajsamand police arrests five youth for creating Nuisance at Kumbhalgarh Fort

Udaipur Police on Friday registered a case against the Bagheswar Dham Chief Pandit Dhirendra Khirshna Shastri for giving hate speech and while addressing a public gathering on the 23.03.23 at Udaipur.

The police took a cognizance against Shastri the self-style Godman after he had given a controversial statement about hosting a Saffron Flag on the Kumbhalgarh Fort and also giving few other controversial remarks during his speech.

Additional Sp City Chandrasheel Thakur said that Pandit Dhirendra Shastri had passed few provocative comments during the public meeting held on the eve of the Hindu New Year, his comments were that it  can disturb the cordial religious harmony between two communities.

Influenced by his statement, a group of youth reached at Kumbhalgarh Fort and tried to create Nuisance, however they were later arrested and a case has been registered against them at Kelwara police station of Rajsamand district, while another case is being registered by the Hathipol police of Udaipur under section 153 A of IPC (Promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence) , Thakur added.

Sp Udaipur Vikas Sharma while talking about the incident said that a case has been registered against Pandit Dhirendra Shastri for instigating people and provoking religious sentiments of the people, the investigation is underway and further action will be taken accordingly.

Shastri was on his one day visit to Udaipur on the eve of Hindu New Year, he was given a grand welcome by the people of Udaipur after which he addressed a Public meeting held at the Bhandhari Darshak Mandap (Ghandhi Ground ) of the city. Thousands of Shastri’s followers gathered in the city only to listen to him. He first went to the Pratap Gaurav Kendra and later he rushed to the Gandhi Ground where he had given his speech.

Dhirendra Krishna Shastri also known as Bageshwar Sarkar  is an Indian narrator and a Hindu Spiritual Leader known as Bageshwar Dham Maharaj, Bageshwar Dham is a religious site at Chhatarpur district of Madhya Pradesh.
