Chain snatching continues in the city

Becoming a severe nightmare for the police and the public, the incidents of chain snatching continued in Udaipur with another case registered today at Bhopalpura Police Station at around 1pm.

A 55-year-old school teacher lost her 2 tola gold chain when two masked men riding a motorcycle came from front and snatched the jewelry off Premlata, resident of 419, D-Road, Bhopalpura. Premlata is a teacher in a Government school.

According to the FIR lodged, Premlata w/o Bhagwati Lal was walking towards her home and while passing through the road near Gattani Hospital, two people on a motorbike came toward her, snatched the gold chain off her and fled away.

They were riding a black colored bike and their faces were covered with cloth, says the victim.

It is now almost every day that such incidents are reported in a once peaceful Udaipur; no major crackdown however has been made by the police yet, leaving the women of the city feeling helpless and terrified.
