President of Shri Mahakeleshwar Temple trust, Tejsingh Sarupria was sentenced to 1 year imprisonment and Rs 10 Lakh fine in a case of cheque bounce.

A case was registered against Sarupria by ex-superintendent in MB Hospital paediatric department Dr S.L. Mondovara. Dr Mandovara said in his representation that he had given Rs 7.5L to Sarupriya in 2008. Sarupriya had in return given cheques to Dr S.L. Mandovara which bounced owing to insufficient balance in the account.

Sarupria had submitted a revision in session court and high court but both the revision petitions were dismissed.

The courts found Sarupriya guilty under Negotiable instruments Act section 138.

Sarupriya’s lawyer submitted a bail application which was accepted and Sarupria is now out on bail.
