Four students of B.N College Hostel have been severely injured in a clash between two groups of students at the hostel premises last night. At least one accused has been arrested by the police, while 3 others are absconding.

On the night of Tuesday, July 12, an altercation over the matter of preparing dinner took place between two groups of students at the hostel premises, which soon turned into an ugly scuffle injuring four students.

According to the police officials, Three students Pradeep and Vikas Mistry from Sirohi and Rohit Jani were at the hostel, when an accused named ‘twist’ turned up and started abusing Pradeep to prepare the dinner, when Pradeep protested, the accused hit Pradeep with a sharp object on his head and went away from there, only to turn up a few moments later with his aides -Chandrapal Singh, Ajit and a few other whose identities are still not known. The accused then started bashing Pradeep, Vikas and Rohit, making the situation tense.

The injured students caught Chandrapal Singh while Twist, Ajit and others ran away from the hostel along with Rs.5000 belonging to Vikas who is pursuing M.Sc in Geology. After being informed, the police arrested Chandrapal and are searching for the other accused in lieu of a F.I.R registered by Pradeep Mistry who is doing PhD from the institute.

It is to be noted that student groups often get involve in such scuffles at almost every hostels and colleges in Udaipur, the fight mostly starts within groups of students belonging to a specific cast or between groups of students belonging to same region outside Udaipur.
