19 Year old student attacked with a knife in Kushalgarh, Banswara

A 19 year old girl, student of Mama Baleshwar Dayal College of Kushalgarh area in Banswara district, sustained injuries on her neck and hands after she was attacked with a knife on Wednesday. The accused is a boy who attacked her because she was apparently interested in a relationship with him.

Rohit Kumar, Station House Officer of Kushalgarh Police Station said "The incident occured at 2.30 pm on Wednesday, when the girl was returning from her college to her house. She was attacked by 21 yr old Sanjay Nishnawat near the Magri Mata temple while she was on her way home. The wounds were deep and required more than a dozen of stitches on the neck and hands and was admitted to hospital in critical condition following which she was referred to Dahot Gujarat for further treatment".

The girl, before falling unconscious, told the police that she was returning from her college situated 3 kilometers away from her house. Midway, she stopped at the Magri Mata Temple to offer prayers where the accused who was waiting for her approached her and threatened to kill her family members if she did not agree to the relationship. Aggrieved with the refusal of his proposal, the accused attacked her and fled the scene leaving the victim in a pool of blood with multiple injuries. The accused, as per the Police, is a neighbor of the girl and he has approached her twice in the past, but the girl has refused both times.

SHO Singh added that a case has been registered against the accused under several sections of Indian Penal Code and he will be arrested soon, following the statement from the girl.
