Udaipur, November 25,2024 - Two individuals in the Ambamata police station area fell victim to cyber fraud, losing Rs 10 lakh and Rs 50,000/-. However, the police successfully recovered Rs 8.23 lakh from the accused's accounts.

Recovery Efforts by Police

Station Officer Dr. Hanwant Singh Rajpurohit stated that immediate action was taken in both cases. In Arpit Ameta's case, an instant complaint was lodged on the cyber portal, and an investigation was launched. The RTGS details of his account were retrieved, and nodal officers of various banks were contacted. As a result, Rs 7.73 lakh was recovered.

In the second case involving Lakshman Singh, the fraudulent bank accounts were traced, and nodal officers helped secure the amount transferred during the fraud.

Arpit Ameta’s Case: Fraudsters Transfer Rs 10 Lakh

Arpit Ameta received messages from his bank about money being debited from his account a few months ago. On contacting the bank, he was informed that the transactions occurred due to OTP sharing. However, he denied sharing any OTP. Cyber fraudsters managed to transfer Rs 10 lakh from his account through RTGS.

Lakshman Singh’s Case: Fake Dealership Offer

Lakshman Singh was searching online for a fertilizer and seed dealership when he was contacted by a fake company's relationship manager named Sachin. The fraudster sent a link and convinced him to transfer Rs 30,000. Realizing the fraud, Lakshman immediately filed a complaint on the cyber portal helpline at 1930.

The quick response by the Ambamata police and their coordination with bank officials led to the recovery of a significant portion of the stolen money. Both victims expressed gratitude for the timely intervention.
