When patients admitted in Maharana Bhopal (MB)Hospital and their relatives were served their daily meal at 10:30AM today they were shocked to see half a dozen of insects in their plate of warm served lentils.

The incident is of pediatric department located inside M.B Hospital compound where Udailal Gayari from Neemuch is staying from the last 13 days for the treatment of his ailing daughter. Udailal says “This is the second time we have noticed insects and worms inside the food served, last time also we had complained about it, but no one paid heed”.

But today, the news spread all over the hospital, and the same food was served in the maternity department.

Udailal (in photo, holding plate) said -“this time I showed the insects laden plate to the junior doctors on duty, they wrapped the food in a plastic bag and sent it to the hospital’s kitchen, but nothing happened, they just re-served the fresh food.”

Like Udailal, hundreds of patients come to M.B Hospital everyday in hope of relief from their physical problems, and being already distressed they never expect themselves to go through such a torment .

Dr. D.P Singh- Head of the M.B hospital in a telephonic conversation said that –“yes I am aware of today’s incident and I have ordered an investigation committee which will produce a factual report very soon”.

This is not the first time that M.B Hospital has been defamed, there are numbers of irregularities and disorders patients face every day, which the hospital authorities should look upon.
