With the escalating crime rate in Udaipur, another day-light theft took place today when a traveller while lodging his baggage in a bus got robbed by an unknown mugger who stole a steel box containing cash and jewellery worth more than one lakh rupees.

With the escalating crime rate in Udaipur, another day-light theft took place today when a traveller while lodging his baggage in a bus got robbed by an unknown mugger who stole a steel box containing cash and jewellery worth more than one lakh rupees.

Sukhlal Dangi (54) was about to board a bus from Surajpol to his native village Khemli near Dabok, while he was putting his bags inthe luggage section, a steel box which had some gold and cash was found missing.

As per the sources, Sukhlal had come from Mumbai today and was going to Khemli. He was accompanied by his three friends when the incident took place in the early afternoon today.

An FIR has been registered by the victim at Surajpol Police Station. “We have ordered blockade at all major checkpoints of the city and have launched a massive hunt to grab the culprit,” said Additional Superintendent of Police, Tejraj Singh while talking to media.

According to a few locals they saw a man allegedly on red colour motorbike taking a box while Sukhlal was putting his bags inthe bus, although nobody from the witnesses has noticed either the appearance or the bike number of the accused.
