A broad daylight murder of a 32 year old married woman has sent shock waves across Udaipur.

Ruchita Gupta, 32, w/o KB Gupta, resident of 702, Orbit 1 Complex at New Bhupalpura (near Laxman Vatika) was found dead in her flat at around 11AM today.  Police confirm gruesome murder as the entire flat was bloody.

Residents of the complex were in for a surprise, when they saw police vehicles arriving at the complex with throngs of reporters and news people in the complex, along with senior police officials along with their team.  The surprise turned into a rude shock when they were told that their neighbor was found murdered.

Subhash Mehta, a resident of the same complex, speaking to media persons said that both husband and wife were very social and have been living in the complex for some time now.  They had earlier owned a flat in the building complex, but a few months ago had sold off their flat and rented the current apartment.  Ruchita was preparing for RJS examinations and her husband was pursuing LLB, as per information provided to UT by neighbors.

Neighbors further said that they had heard the family seeing off their children to school in the morning and were in shock to know that the woman had been killed a few hours later.

The body of the deceased has been sent for post mortem and her husband has been taken into custody.   Mobile conversation records of husband and wife are being analysed to come to concrete conclusions.  Ruchita’s husband, KB Gupta is Professor at the Law College of MLSU.  Police say that looking at the situation in the house, Ruchita seems to have struggled with the murderer for quite sometime.
