Special task force (STF) of District Police along with Dhanmandi Police arrested an elderly man for sandalwood theft charges levied on his son. 70-year old man was arrested and presented in court.

Police recoved a large amount of sandalwood from his house. Sandalwood was brought home by the elderly man’s son. When Police could not lay hand on the alleged criminal, they arrested his 70-year old father on account of sandalwood theft and trafficking.

The old man was presented in court from where he was released on bail.

STF In-charge Subodh Jangid informed that Ibrahim(s/o Karim Baksh) was arrested from his residence in Karwadi, Bhoot Mohalla area. 16kgs of Sandalwood was recovered from his house.

On interrogation, Ibrahim informed that the Sandalwood was brought by his son Yusuf and another guy named Bilal for selling purpose.

Police is now on a lookout for Yusuf and Bilal. Only after their arrest will it become clear as to from where was this Sandalwood cut and to whom it was to be sold.
