Rs 1 Crore 37 Lakh worth of railway tickets were confiscated from a person by the name of Dinesh Jangid, in a raid conducted by the Railway Protection Force from the Jodhpur Division of North Western Railway.

Gopal Sharma, Senior Public Relations Officer, Jodhpur Division, informed that this e-ticketing racket is being run by Dinesh along with 6 other persons, all of whom have been arrested.

This racket was being managed through the use of illegal third party software, viz. iCON, iBall, ABS, SPARK and Redbull.

The joint raid was conducted by a team Crime Branch of Railway Protection Force (RPF) officers from Jaipur and Jodhpur Division, under the supervision of Dr Abhishek, Commissioner, Jodhpur Division. The team raided the offices of the main distributor of these softwares.

8,067 reserved tickets were confiscated from them, the total value of these tickets being Rs 1,37,13,256/-.  Of these, the value of live tickets was Rs. 7,62,716.  Live tickets are the ones where travel is still pending. These tickets have been confiscated and reservation on these tickets has been blocked.

Earlier last month, the Railways police had busted a racket of illegal softwares like ANCS, Jaguar and MAC, which would facilitate bypassing of captcha and Bank OTP to generate tickets, while a genuine user had to go through the entire procedure. A regular user took approximately 2.55 minutes to book the tickets, but those using these illegal software, could complete the task in around 1.58 minutes.
