An attempt of theft was recorded today morning at the temple of Gulabeshwar Bheruji situated at Hathipol. Temple committee has lodged an FIR with Dhanmandi Police Station.

“The theft must have been attempted yesterday night sometime between 9:30 in the night and 4:30 in the morning” informed Prakash Purbia, Temple Priest. “I came to the temple this morning at 4:30 to find that both locks at the main gate were broken. Later, I was relieved to find that the wrong-doers weren’t able to bump the lock of the donation box”.

The donation box is a shelf with a wooden door. Thieves were not able to break the lock and it was found a bit damaged. “A stone was recovered near the donation box, supposedly, the element they used to break the two locks at the gate.”, said Kamal Prakash Babel, Member of Temple Committee.

The temple committee has requested the police to increase the patrolling and provide the temple with a guard. This is the state of affairs when Panchmukhi Ganesh Temple, not very far, was successfully robbed only a few weeks ago.
