Two persons were arrested in Udaipur on Tuesday for allegedly involved in fake sex determination test.The accused neither had qualifications or experience to conduct sonography.
However they were trying to dupe people in the name of sex determination test and had taken Rs. 90 thousand and had done a normal sonography test (fetal Eco).
Pre-Conception Pre-Natal Diagnostic Technique (PCPNDT) cell team conducted a decoy operation late on Tuesday night to nab the two persons red-handed.
Those arrested were identified as Himanshu Chouhan a resident of Ambedkar Colony Sector.5 of Hiran Magri and Devendra Suthar of a resident of Debari areas of Udaipur.
Chief Medical and Health Officer Udaipur Shankar H Bamnia said that the accused were arrested by a team of Pre-Conception Pre-Natal Diagnostic Technique (PCPNDT) cell team of Jaipur led by Inspecter Jitendra Gangwani under the supervision of IAS Sudhir Sharma.
The team reached Udaipur on Friday and on Saturday they contacted the agents accused Devendra and Himanshu through a decoy pregnant woman.Both the accused have taken Rs. 80 thousands as advance and informed the woman amd her family that she would have a son which they have seen during the sex determination test, but instead they had conducted a normal sonography.
Bamnia said that the operation was carries out at the GBH American Cancer Hospital at Bedwaas area of Pratap Nagar area,the team has also recovered the amount from them.
Bamnia said that during the initial interogation it was found that out of the two accused Devendra Suthar runs a nursing clinic at Debari area while the father of other accused Himanshu is an employee at the Udaipur Municipal Corporation.
He said that both will be produced infront of court and will be taken on Police Custody remand to question them further about the racket and other people involved in it.
