Fraud posing as doctor arrested from MB Hospital

Police have arrested a man from MB hospital for allegedly duping people by portraying himself as a doctor. He would then refer people to other hospitals under the pretext of getting better facilities and earn commission.

Pankaj (s/o Bhagwati Lal Jain) used to take advantage of the innocence of people coming to MB Hospital from villages. He used to pose himself as a doctor and moved around in the corridor of MB Hospital. He would then interact with patients and ask them to move to other hospitals for cure.

Ashok Anjana, SHO, Hathipole Police station, informed that they had received information from MB hospital administration that one man was posing as a doctor and duping people. Police rushed to the hospital and caught hold of Pankaj.

Pankaj informed that he used to earlier work in the area of automobile parts. Since he did not have any work for past few days, he had moved to Banswara.

Pankaj is a resident of Chandpole area. He has claimed innocence in the matter and said that he never presented himself as a doctor.

What should be scarying citizens of Udaipur more than Pankaj’s involvement is that fact that some private hospitals are willing to pay to touts to get patients. This is giving a noble profession like medicine a very grotesque face and could even be putting health and life of patients at risk
