Fraudster promising roles in films to girls nabbed | Confesses duping 250-300 girls

Ambamata police has nabbed the prime accused and his female accomplice in a case of duping girls by taking Rs 2000 to Rs 5000 cash from them in lieu of getting them roles in movies. The duo have been active in city for the last month and a half and accepted to have duped 250-300 girls.

Ambamata police has nabbed the prime accused and his female accomplice in a case of duping girls by taking Rs 2000 to Rs 5000 cash from them in lieu of getting them roles in movies. The duo have been active in city for the last month and a half and accepted to have duped 250-300 girls.

Chandra Purohit, SHO, Ambamata informed that they have arrested East Mumbai resident Jeet Sonavaniya (s/o Vinod) and his female accomplice Algas Khan (d/o Shahjaman Khan) in the incident

Jeet would stop women on road and introduce himself as choreographer with ABCD films. After initiating the conversation, he would mention that he was currently caught in personal problems and would dupe them by offering them modelling and actress roles in movies in lieu of money.

IO Abdullah informed that they have recovered photographs, names, phone no and addresses of over 100 girls. They also recovered fake notes and fake pistol from the accused along with one note of 100 Japanese Yen. Police also recovered a driving licence of Abdul Hamid from the accused. He used to use this driving licence for staying in hotels.

Police informed that Jeet along with Algas had come to Udaipur a month and a half back. The duo used to take a auto-rickshaw on hire and go to places where there were larger probability of finding young females. They would then pretend that they lost their luggage and ask for money against offering them roles in movies.
