A raid at a local Osho Dhyaan Kendra put the Police Department in an embarrassing position today.  A German tourist was found holed up in the house of a Police Constable in the Seth Ji Ki Kundal area under Goverdhan Vilas Police Station.

As per information provided by the Head of Goverdhan Vilas Police Station, the police were informed of a possibility of foreign tourists staying at the Osho Dhyaan Kendra, a residence situated at Seth Ji Ki Kundal, in Balicha, Udaipur. When the police conducted the raid, the owner of the house was not there. On interrogation they discovered that the house belonged to a Constable at the DSB section of the SP Office in Udaipur.

Inspector Chena Ram Pachar of the Goverdhan Vilas Police Station informed that the German lady, Kiara Marki had arrived in Udaipur on 18 March and was staying at the same location since then.

The house belongs to a constable in the District Special Branch (DSB) wing of the Superintendent of Police of Udaipur.  The DSB wing is a special wing that handles confidential information.  The constable had not reported the presence of this tourist. Neither was the administration informed post the instructions given after the Corona Lockdown was imposed, nor was the CID or DSB informed through the C-Form. This careless approach of a constable of the special branch of the city police has caused embarrassment to the police department.

Chena Ram Pachar has personally registered the case against the constable and booked him under the Foreigners Act 1946.  Interrogations with the German tourist revealed that she had arrived in India on 5 February and after covering multiple places, arrived in Udaipur on 18 March.  The authorities however assure people that she is in good health and since 18 days have passed since her arrival in Udaipur, there is no need for concern.
