A case of fraud of Rs. 3.50 lacs has been registered yesterday in city’s Hathipol Police Station. Vikas Joshi resident of chetak circle registered an FIR against three people indentified as Parvat Singh, Harishankar Joshi and Alok Tiwari.

The trio introduced themselves to Vikas as a representative of one multinational company Venus Capital and promised to give him more than U.S Dollar 900,000 $ (nearly 4 crore rupees) if he deposited an initial amount of Rs. 7 lakhs.

Vikas paid Rs.3.5 lacs and promised to give remaining amount soon, but suddenly Parvat, Harishankar and Alok disappeared with more than 3 lac rupees. This made Vikas suspicious and he tried to enquire about them but he could not reach those three.

Vikas reported an FIR of being cheated of Rs.3.50 lakhs on 25^th February 2011.

Bindiya Maru (Investigation Officer) Hathipol Police said that they didn’t start the investigation yet because Vikas went out of city to attend some important function.

Vikas was not present for comment.
