GM and Factory Manager of Reliance Chemotex sentenced to prison

General Manager (GM) and Factory manager of Reliance Chemotex, RIICO Industrial area were yesterday sentenced to two years of imprisonment on the charges of negligence.  The sentence was pronounced by the single bench chaired by Dharmraj Meena.

General Manager, R.N. Sharma and Factory Manager, G.S. Rathore were found guilty of assigning an unqualified lady to work on an extremely risky machine in the factory. As a result of this negligence, the lady worker met with an accident and lost her life. A case was registered in this regard by D.L. Damore of the Factories & Boilers Inspection Department on Feb 15,2011.

Case was filed under the Factories act, section 7-A, 22 and Rajasthan Factories act 1995 section 92 of rule 54.  As per the complaint, the accused had employed an unskilled lady Deepa (d/o Jogaram Garasia) to work on an excavator machine in the dies division. This position is meant for a skilled male employee. Deepa had during the operation of the machine got entangled therein and sustained serious injurious to which she later succumbed.

After investigating the various witnesses and available documents, the court sentenced the duo to 2 years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 25000/- each.
