In a home robbery incident that occurred on Sunday, 8th April, Aziz Hussain Raj, resident of 7, Paneri Upvan, Bedla Road, Fatehpura reported a loss of Rs. 20,000 cash and 10 Tola Gold, worth approximately Rs. 3 lac from his home.

The incident allegedly occurred on Sunday, when the entire family was out of the house from 10:30 am till 11 at night.  The residents in the neighborhood did not witness any untoward movement during the active hours of the day, and say that the entire lane is significantly still during Sunday afternoons, and have assumed that the robbery could have taken place during that time of the day.

According to Aziz, son of Saifuddin Raj, the family was out of the house from 10:30 in the morning, and when they came back home at 11 in the night, they found the house open and robbed.  They immediately reported the incident to the Fatehpura chowki who did not file the FIR as this can only be filed at the main Police station.  The family then reported the incident to Ambamata Police station today morning.

The family reportedly has moved into the house two months ago and is residing on a rental basis on the ground floor.  The land lord, who occupies the first floor, is staying abroad.

He further said that two cupboards were ransacked and cash was taken from one cupboard while the Gold was taken from the other cupboard.  Keys were used to enter each of the rooms and open the cupboards.  All keys of the house are kept in a bag in the main hall, and the crooks managed to access that bag.

The entire house and other belongings otherwise were seemingly left undisturbed and only the main gate to the house was forced open.

The police apparently are investigating the matter, though UT team has not been given any information by the Police station.
