Udaipur has witnessed another chain snatching incident today when a woman was targeted by two persons who came on a bike and pulled the gold chain from her neck and ran away.
Police blocked the roads but no fruitful result has been achieved yet.
Sunita Garg (45), the victim is a teacher at Central Academy School Sec-5 and the incident took place when she was returning back to home after school at 3:15 pm. She stays at Vasant Vihar Colony, Hiran Magri, Sec-5.
While she was walking on the isolated road to her house, two men came on a bike from behind and snatched 12.5 gm gold chain and before the victim could respond the snatchers ran away, although fortunately the gold pendant remained safe in Sunita’s hands.
“Before attacking they circled around me twice, but I could not understand their ill motive,” says Sunita. “I screamed for help but as the place remains isolated even in the day time, no one could come to help me out,” she added.
Soon after the incident was reported, police came to action by placing barricades on several check points in and around the city to look after the offenders on the basis of the description given by the victim. Police is not successful in getting any clue about the culprits so far.
As per the description given by Sunita, the snatchers were looking about 20-25 years of age; they were riding a black motorcycle though she is unable to memorize the bike number or brand of the vehicle.
