Unidentified thieves made away with cash and gold ornaments running into lakhs from a vacant house near Nela Meladi Mata Mandir temple falling under Goverdhan Sagar Police Station.

Prashu s/o Rajesh Bhatnagar lodged a Police complaint that the theft happened on the night of 21-Aug. He said that his father was not at home and his mother had gone to her sister’s house.

Taking advantage of the vacant house, thieves got in after breaking the lock on the main door. They then took away Rs 35000 cash lying in the cupboard and made away with gold ornaments with value running upward of lakh.

Police has started investing the case.
