Udaipur, April 14, 2025 - A security guard of an apartment complex in Adarsh Colony has filed an FIR at Sukher police station against a resident of the building alleging physical assault and mental harassment. According to reports, 70-year-old Kasturchand Jain, who works as a security guard at Aravali Heights located near RK Circle, Pulla, has accused flat owner Pritam Mehta of beating him up and issuing death threats.

As per the FIR, on April 10 at around 9:20 pm, Kasturchand stopped a parcel delivery person from going up to Mehta’s flat because he had been instructed by the Aravali Heights Residents Welfare Society to not allow parcel delivery to Mehta’s apartment.. When the latter was called by the delivery person to come collect his parcel, he came down in anger, took the parcel and left.

However, according to Kasturchand, Mehta later came down again and entered into an altercation with him, man-handling him and abusing him. He then allegedly held him by the neck and pushed him out of the gate which, the guard said, caused injuries to his hands, legs and knees. Kasturchand also said that Mehta threatened him that if he returned to work, he would be killed.

Later, as per the report filed, at round 11:38 pm, Mehta apparently called Kasturchand on his mobile phone warning him not to go the police and issued further threats. Kasturchand has reported that he was also threatened via calls from the society's phone when he did not answer his mobile the second time.

The guard has said that he was too shaken up to file a report that same night. Hence, he filed it the next day and has said in his report that he fears for his safety. He mentioned that CCTV cameras are installed at the incident site and the entire event was recorded.

A case has been registered at the Sukher police station and the investigation has been handed over to ASI Khuman Singh.
