Police enquiry taking place at General Hospital

A half burnt body of a man was found in the Shobhagpura area of the city, today morning at 9 a.m. by the police.

According to sources, Kudan Khatik (23), resident of Hathipole was first allegedly attacked with a sharp weapon and then an attempt was made to set his body on fire, as the dead body was found to be partially burnt.

Motilal Khatik, Kundan’s father, informed “yesterday, at around 7:30 p.m. Kundan received a call from somebody and he went out, saying he had to go see a friend. He had said he would be back in a few minutes and as he did not come back for more than an hour, I went to look around for him in the locality, but there was no trace of him; in the morning we got this news.”

It is rumored that Kundan was a habitual criminal but apparently he has only one case registered against him, and that too related to a dispute, logged at Hathipole Police Station.

Ram Sumer, SHO, Sukher Police station said, “an FIR against the anonymous murderer has been logged and we have started our investigation on the case.”

The body was handed over to the victim’s family after the postmortem.
