A history sheeter caught under the charges of Sandalwood theft, dodged police and took a dip in the pond at Rashmi, Chittorgarh.

Hathipol Police, who had the custody of Shamsher Ali was in Rashmi for the investigation of the theft. Making an excuse of relieving himself, he made the police stop the vehicle and walked to the edge of the pond, in the night.

Before policemen could understand anything, the accused took a dip in the pond. Police waited and patrolled the pond for more than four hours but he didn’t come out. After waiting for long, police left.

It was later informed by Chittorgarh police in the morning that they have brought Shamsher to the station as he was found near a temple in Rashmi area. As per the sources, localites of the Rashmi area saw Shamsher wandering in the locality with the cuffs and informed the police.
