A theft was reported yesterday at the Govardhan Vilas Police Station with several gold ornaments and Rs. 40,000 of cash missing from the house.

Mahendra Singh Rao, a resident of Govind Nagar, had been out on vacation with his family since 20^th May. On their return to the city on the 28^th of May, the family discovered that the main lock of the house had been damaged.

According to the FIR, the house was in total disarray and the rooms were found to be completely disordered. “A gold ring, a pair of gold earrings and a gold nose pin, along with Rs. 40,000, was also missing from the house safe,” added a policeman.

As per Mahendra Singh Rao, the tenants of the house had also been out of the city for holidays at the time of theft.

The Police have started their investigation into the matter soon after the FIR was lodged.
