Udaipur,08.10.23- As many as 120 sheep crushed to death while 50 others got severely injured after a speeding tanker laden with oil overturned here at Gogunda- Pindwara highway on Sunday morning. Those injured also includes two men residents of Pali district.

The incident occurred on Sunday morning when the herd of sheep was heading towards Madhya Pradesh, as soon as it reaches near the Chor Bawri village located on the Gogunda- Pindwara highway a speeding tanker carrying oil crushed them from behind and overturned. however the driver of the tanker somehow manage to fled the scene.

The owner of the herd of the sheep Dharmaram informed " I along with two of my associates heading towards Madhya Pradesh from Sirohi district. During the mishap i have lost as many as 120 sheep and remaining will also succumbed to their injuries as their condition is also critical, moreover both of my associates identified as Juta Ram and Kesa Ram are also injured and admitted to hospital for treatment. Now i want that both of them should get better treatment and i should get the remuneration for sheep".

The locals held the highway authorities responsible for the mishap by blaming them for bad conditions of the roads, they claimed that despite of several intimations and memorandums of the locals the the concerned authorities have remained ignorant that is resulting in the road mishaps.

Station House Officer Gogunda Shaitan Singh that a case has been registered against the driver of the tanker, the tanker has been seized and a man hunt has been launched for the accused driver. The MLA Gogunda Pratap Lal, Bheel, Sub Divisional Magistrate Hanuman Singh Rathode and the Tehsildar also reached on the spot.
