Income Tax department had carried out a survey and raid on Pacific Group in 2015 and 2016 and submitted an income tax demand around Rs 80-90 Crores in December 2017. This demand was however not paid by Pacific group.
Given the default by Pacific Group on the income tax demand, the department carried out a recovery survey. As part of this, the department is drawing information about Pacific group that it may have missed in the earlier raid. The department hence carried out a survey of Pacific group assets that it did not have complete information about.
