Sources have indicated that an Income Tax department raid has been initiated on the offices of the Miraj group across various. As per reports, sleuths from the Income Tax department have possibly raided the groups offices situated in Mumbai, Udaipur, Jaipur, Nathdwara and Ajmer.

Sources say that the raids are being conducted across the Groups offices by the Income Tax teams from Mumbai, allegedly to dig out more information on alleged investments in shell companies. Raids have been earlier made on the company by GST and IT department. Sources in the local neighborhood say that many vehicles arrived in the vicinity of the home of the owner of the group and head office in Nathdwara at around 4am on 21 February.

The diversified ground-up Miraj Group has interests in Tobacco, Pipes, Cinema, FMCG, Real Estate among other businesses and provides employment and livelihood to thousands of families across India. The growth of the group has changed the entire landscape of the Rajsamand region to the north of Udaipur and has brought Nathdwara on the global map. The group is also known for its construction of the tallest statue of Lord Shiva in Nathdwara.
