Pratapnagar police has managed to bust an inter-state vehicle theft racket. This is the racket that steals luxury vehicles and sells them in other states at cheaper rates.

Luxury vehicles have been the target of vehicle thieves. 2 members of an inter-state theft racket have been arrested who revealed that they targeted an international company which gives cars on rent. The racket managed to escape with around 40 vehicles from Delhi, Mumbai, Gujarat and other states.

As per Pratapnagar CI, a complaint was lodged by Udaipur team lead of Zoom Cars that one of their vehicles was rented by Savaram, resident of Jalore, in the name of his company. Zoom Cars rents cars via online booking. A Scorpio jeep was booked by Savaram for 4500 rupees. After moving out in the rented vehicle, Savaram switched off his mobile. When he finally came in contact, he started making stories about the vehicle.

Taking the matter into urgent consideration, police started investigating the case. Savaram was arrested in Jalore with his accomplice Mukesh Kumar. As per police records, there are many cases against both these culprits in Rajasthan and other states. Upon interrogations, they revealed that they had targetted Zoom Cars and taken away around 40 vehicles from their offices in Ahmedabad, Surat, Mumbai, Pune and Delhi. Scorpio, Creta, Innova and many other luxury vehicles were taken by these 2 thieves. Police is expecting to extract details of more vehicles from these vehicle-theft racket members. These people used to rent vehicles under different identities to escape being tracked by police. Police is now trying to find out the whereabouts of the other members of this racket.
