The brutal day light murder of an Advocate in Jodhpur earlier this week led the Bar Association of Udaipur to cease working for a day, in agitation against the murder.

Adv. Jugraj Chauhan, a member of the Rajasthan High Court Lawyers Association was murdered brutally in broad daylight earlier this week. The President of the Udaipur Bar Association, along with fellow lawyers submitted a memorandum to the District Collector, which was collected in person by the ADM City OP Bunkar.

Rakesh Mogra, the President of the Udaipur Bar Association said that the lawyer community has been substantially hurt by the gruesome murder and over the last few months, these sorts of attacks on lawyers are becoming more frequent. The memorandum submitted to the state government has asked for presenting the Lawyers Protection Bill as well as speeding up the necessary arrests of the murderers and providing financial relief to the family of the deceased lawyer.

Jugraj Chauhan and Advocate in Jodhur was attacked by two men in broad daylight when he was riding his two wheeler. He was attacked and wounded with a kinfe multiple times, and when he was on the road and unable to move, his head was crushed with heavy stone, leading to his death on the spot. The incident was recorded in a CCTV footage and sent shockwaves across social media. As per Nazim Ali, ADCP Jodhpur Police Commissionerate, the accused, identified as Mukesh and Anil were arrested by the police. The victim's family said in their statement that is was a case of old enemity and that Jugraj's brother was also killed earlier.
