M.L Chouhan – Additional Deputy Magistrate of Udaipur has issued a legal notice to Hotel Leela Kempinski Udaipur and BMW for displaying their newly launched 6-Series car BMW 650i Convertible on a floating stage made in middle of Lake Pichola.
BMW India had launched their new 6 series car in Udaipur on 25th March 2011. The launch party was held in Hotel Leela Kempinski located on the shore of Lake Pichola. Before 2-3 days of the grand celebration, Hotel authorities constructed a floating wooden stage to exhibit the two seater luxury car.
On 25th March 2011, just 2 months back we published the news of a car being displayed amid Lake Pichola without any official permission of authorities.
Next day, not all but few of the local press and media of Udaipur raised their voice against the incident held. Local news channel IN News has initiated the task and reached to the ADM City – M.L. Chohan.
Mr. Chohan took the case seriously and issued a show-cause notice with 3 day deadline to both the Managing Director of BMW based in Gurgaon and Managing Authority of Leela Kempinski, to give a reasonable answer within three days that why authority should not act against them. However, there is no official statement recorded from both parties.
It is alleged that both BMW and Hotel Leela had deal worth crore of rupees for this grand launch. Many renowned personalities from international automobile industry, international media and many high profile people were invited in the party.
