Liquor smuggler arrested from Hotel Ananta Udaipur
Most wanted liquor smuggler arrested from Udaipur's Ananta Resort.
A most wanted liquor smuggler has been arrested from Udaipur’s Hotel Ananta. Reportedly, he has 70 cases against him which include murder cases as well. Udaipur unit of Special Operations Group (SOG) raided Ananta Resort on Thursday and arrested Vijay aka Vinod Sindhi (39) and 6 of his accomplices from the resort. The accused was holding a meeting with 6 people to plan the agenda for liquor smuggling.
As per information received from an informer, the SOG team reached Ananta and laid out their surveillance plan covering the reception area, parking area and the entry and exit doors. Vinod entered the resort in his Audi car with some of his accomplices and booked a room. He was followed by the others in a Scorpio. All were set to move to the meeting room when they were arrested by the SOG team.

As informed by SOG team, there are 70 cases against Vinod, 3 of which are that of murder. He has been sent behind bars for 50 cases out of these. He was wanted by Rajasthan and Gujarat police in 20 other cases. There are cases of murder and smuggling against him in areas of Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Chandigarh as well. There was reward on his head declared by Dungarpur police.
The arrested people along with Vinod are Ambalal Mewara from Banoda, Somraj Singh from Jammu and Kashmir, Chirag Pancholi from Kherwara, Bhanwarlal Mewara from Salumber, Sunil Tailor from Ghasa and Sunil Bhai from Gujarat. These smugglers bring in liquor from Punjab and Haryana and use their own trucks for smuggling the product in Gujarat. They also supply in Rajasthan.
