In a major breakthrough Police has managed to arrest a wanted criminal in the twin ATM loot case. Readers may note that SBI ATMs in Titardi and Dabok were looted during the night of 19-20 April this year.

In a major breakthrough Police has managed to arrest a wanted criminal in the twin ATM loot case. Readers may note that SBI ATMs in Titardi and Dabok were looted during the night of 19-20 April this year.

Police has arrested wanted criminal Mushtaq Mev s/o Majeed Khan Mev from Gurgaon. Mushtaq’s brother Adil Mev had already been arrested in the case.

It may be noted that unidentified miscreants had looted the SBI ATMs located at Titardi and Dabok by using a gas cutter and looted cash worth lakhs. On the basis of CCTV footage from the nearby areas, Police identified the accused as Mushtaq Mev, Adil Mev, Abdulla s/o Majeed Khan Mev, Pappi Singh s/o Pal Singh. Aijaz s/o Nabbi Mev and Arshad Khan s/o Rehmat Khan.

Kumwar Rashtradeep, SP, said that on the basis of tip-off from informers, Adil Khan had already been arrested. His brother Mushtaq has now been arrested in Gurgaon. Mushtaq is being questioned about the whereabouts of the stolen cash and also details about his fellow accomplice.

Mushtaq has cases registered against him in Delhi, Rajasthan and Haryana for theft, attempt to murder etc. Mushtaq was locked up in Bharatpur jail from where he was given parole. Mushtaq jumped parole and was absconding. Mushtaq also escaped from Haryana Police’s grip after firing at them. Post this, Haryana Police team put a prize money of Rs 5 Lakh on Mushtaq.
