A man that killed his wife over the suspicion of extramarital affair was arrested by the Kotra police on Tuesday. According to Station House Officer Ram Singh the accused was produced infront of court and was remanded to judicial custody.
Singh said that the 40 year old accused Raju alias Rajiya a resident of Kotra village was married to her wife Mewa Devi 9 years a ago and was having 3 kids including a 1 year old son. On 27 May Raju and his wife went to his in-laws house to attain a social function along with their younger son. As soon as the function concluded Raju's wife denied to go back at thier house. When her parents ask her the reason for going back she said that he always doubts her character and often use to thrash her following the doubt.
However her parents some how adviced Raju not to doubt their daughter Mewa and make them go together, said SHO Ram Singh. But when they were walking towards thier house which is around 7 kilometers away from Mewa's parental house the couple once again had an argument following which the accused Raju started beaten her wife. He took her to the nearby jungle and threw her on the ground, banged her head on the rock and later strangulated her to death. He than took his son back home leaving the dead body of the viarea, at jungle. He left his at home along with two of his other children and fled the village, said Singh.
One of the eye witness of the murder who had seen the accused beaten his wife informed her brother, but before he could reach at the scene she died. Deceased woman Mewa's brother later informed the police upon which a team from Kotra police station rushed to the scene and shfited the body to the mortury and also lodged a case of murder against the accused and started searching him. It was on Tuesday morning when the police got the tipoff about the about, acting on the information the accused was arrested by the police from the Baksa village of the area, Singh added. Singh said that the accused works as a labour but he is crank person.
